Magnet input

Paste a valid magnet:? link to create a download without a second workflow.

Task control

Pause, resume, remove, and monitor progress, speed, ETA, and connected peers.

Restart recovery

Incomplete tasks return paused and resume against their original local data.

Local persistence

Task records and settings stay on the machine in small versioned stores.

Explicit seeding

Downloads finish offline. Starting or stopping seeding is always a user choice.

The desktop interface switches between Simplified Chinese and English immediately.

Bundled runtime

The Windows release carries its pinned Node sidecar and production dependencies.

Authenticated IPC binds to 127.0.0.1. The UI never imports or controls WebTorrent directly.

03 SEEDING PHILOSOPHY

Complete means
offline by default.

After a download reaches 100%, Torrent404 stops torrent network activity. Seeding begins and ends only when the user asks.

VOLUNTARY / USEFULIf you have spare upload bandwidth and your computer will remain online, consider seeding for a while. It helps other peers and contributes to a healthier swarm.

04 PRIVACY BOUNDARY

Torrent404 is local-first,
but BitTorrent is not anonymous.

Peers and trackers can observe your public IP address.
Torrent404 does not provide Tor or connect to the Tor anonymity network.
It does not provide a VPN, IP masking, or anonymity protection.
Search and torrent traffic leave your computer directly.
